'The Visitor' – a meet-the-author event with Illya Tandur

The Warsaw Gasworks Museum invites you to a meet-the-author event with Illya Tandur, Polish Poetry Slam Champion and author of his debut collection 'Przyjezdny'.

'Przyjezdny' is a poetic reportage based on the author’s personal experiences – born in Kyiv and living in Poland since 2009, Illya Tandur writes about an identity torn between two cultures, emigration, war and memory. The collection is written in the style of gonzo journalism – subjective, uncompromising and deeply personal.

Illya Tandur is the current Polish Poetry Slam Champion, Poland’s representative at the international Slamovision 2024 competition, and the winner of the single-poem tournament at the Silesius 2025 International Poetry Festival.

During the event, the author will talk about his creative process and his journey between two cultures, present selected texts, and invite the audience to join the conversation.
