October 16–November 8, 2026 — “Seeing the Invisible.” An exhibition of paintings by Julia Grava
The Warsaw Gasworks Museum invites you to Julia Grava’s painting exhibition, “Seeing the Invisible,” which will be on view from October 16 to November 8, 2026. The artist uses motifs from nature, vivid color, and painterly texture to explore emotions, relationships, memory, and inner transformations.
What can we perceive in a painting when we allow ourselves to look at it longer? In Julia Grava’s paintings, flowers, trees, and landscapes become the starting point for stories about people, their identities, relationships, memory, and transformation.
The artist employs saturated colors, expressive texture, and symbolic motifs. Deliberately unfinished forms also play an important role in her work, leaving viewers room for personal interpretation.
Between Individuality and Community
One of the exhibition’s most important themes is the relationship between the need to maintain one’s own voice and belonging to a larger community. Plant forms evoke different paces of growth, opening up, and self-discovery.
The selection of flower species, individual elements of the compositions, and unfinished forms creates an additional layer of meaning. The exhibition also explores themes of femininity, motherhood, and the right to undergo transformation at one’s own pace.
“Seeing the Invisible” is Julia Grava’s second solo exhibition. It invites visitors to a mindful encounter with art, during which familiar forms of nature allow us to examine what is difficult to capture in words: emotions, bonds, and personal experiences.
Admission to the exhibition is included in the price of a ticket to the MGW.
