“More than just tango and soccer” – Argentina with Paulina Lewandowska

A love of soccer, tango, and the boundless expanses of Patagonia. For most people, Argentina brings to mind nothing more than that. Yet my Argentina prefers folklore to tango and shimmers with the thousand colors of the country’s magical north, a region largely unknown to tourists.

In recent years, Argentina has become my second home. Just like the Argentines, I started my day with yerba mate; I couldn’t imagine a Sunday without a Sunday gathering for a meat feast, or asado; I got excited watching soccer matches and danced the chacarera at folklore events. I’ll talk about the most important elements of the Argentine lifestyle, as well as the less pleasant aspects of living in Argentina—economic crises and massive inflation.

Travel is also a must. Argentina is cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, the largest waterfalls in the tropical region of Misiones—home to descendants of Polish immigrants—the glaciers of Patagonia, and the green hills and vineyards of the country’s center. And on top of that, my favorite, atmospheric north. During the presentation, I’ll take you to a lesser-known, mystical side of Argentina. Off the beaten path, we’ll discover charming towns, colorful mountains, local culture, and the traditional carnival. I’ll also share practical information about the cost of living and traveling in Argentina, as well as safety.

We look forward to seeing you on 23 April at 6.00 pm at the Warsaw Gasworks Museum. Free admission. Please download your ticket.
